“No Good Legend” is the latest masterpiece from the Craterr team, created in collaboration with several talented creators. Set against the backdrop of the Wild West, this film explores the endless possibilities of filmmaking through unique perspectives and creative expression.
As the Executive Sponsor of this project, Hollyland played a crucial role by providing advanced wireless video transmission systems and intercom equipment, ensuring a smooth production process. Hollyland is committed to empowering creators by offering reliable products that enhance communication and efficiency on set.
How does the Hollyland ecosystem help a lot?
During the production of “No Good Legend,” Hollyland’s products proved invaluable. The intercom system Solidcom C1 Pro and the Pyro Series video transmission system created a seamless video and audio ecosystem that significantly improved coordination efficiency on the filmmaking set.
The Pyro Series, known for its exceptional stability and reliability, ensured flawless video transmission between multiple cameras. Creators praised the Pyro 7 monitor, particularly its integrated transmitter and receiver design, which greatly simplified the equipment’s operation. Filmmaker Cam Mackey shared his experience: “We’re using the Hollyland Pyro S, and they’ve been great because we’ve been able to actually have four running monitors at the same time. Also, this new monitor, Pyro 7, that just came out, is freaking good. I like how it’s all built into one and can be both a transmitter or receiver, which is pretty clutch.”
In addition, the Solidcom C1 Pro wireless headset provided clear, interference-free two-way communication, allowing team members to communicate smoothly in the noisy environment of the set. For instance, cinematographer Brittney Janae highlighted the importance of effective communication: “The most important thing is how you can effectively communicate with your team while you’re on set. Hollyland has these headsets with two channels, which we actually split between production teams. This way, we could communicate with different people on set without having to yell across. Especially in a location like this, it’s hard to relay information, but using something like a wireless headset not only keeps our hands free but also enables us to communicate with different teams for various needs.”
These tools were especially crucial in a high-budget, complex film production. They helped keep everything in sync across different filming locations and allowed for instant communication. Hollyland’s video and audio setup was a game-changer. It made the communication and collaboration on set smoother and more efficient.
Why is collaboration important on set?
The success of “No Good Legend” was a result of tight collaboration among all parties involved, and Hollyland’s products facilitated the synergy between Craterr creators. In addition to Hollyland’s tools, the production also benefited from other high-quality brand collaborations, such as the amazing Arri Alexa Mini LF, the brand new Lumix GH7, the cinematic Atlas Mercury lenses, and the first-ever integration of ARRI Log C3 into a hybrid mirrorless camera. These, along with the deep dive into the lighting setup with Nanlite and Nanlux, contributed to the film’s overall success.
Beyond the perfect equipment collaboration, the cohesive teamwork among various creative members—such as the Director of Photography (DP), Assistant Camera (AC), Best Boy Electric (BC), Pulling Focus, Gaffer, and Production Designer—was crucial in bringing this film to life.
Hollyland’s video and audio ecosystem allowed creators to focus on their creativity without worrying about location and collaboration constraints. This collaboration demonstrated the effectiveness of Hollyland’s products in complex film productions.
